Collage Poetry: Create a Zine

In this online workshop, experimental poet, Dr. Karen Lowry, will teach you how to make a digital collage from fragments of text and images with simple, free digital tools. No design experience is needed. Using examples, including Karen’s own collection, This Fragile Thing, you’ll explore how images can create surprising connections in your work and can shift the meaning of your words. You’ll then have guided exercises to help you gather your own material, from found text and stock images to old photographs and lines of your own writing. From there, you’ll have time to experiment and play with building your page. After the workshop, everyone's pages will be gathered into a shared digital zine. You'll leave as a published contributor to an exciting new collaborative collection.
